I did a few moves this month fo people going back and guess what? They fucked the government again
they went to big moving companies and got quotes for full moves ( load / Drive / unload) It runs around $6K for a 3 bedroom house

weve actually got friends in SP from LA    they are cool. as are most from LA     but you cant argue with statistics     you cant argue that there is a correlation to migrations from LA and the huge jump in crime rate.  that only in the past year can you go somewhere and not hear someone asking for the "katrina discount"  or  im from katrina..... can u spare a couple bucks.    that when katrina people came    the hotels that let them in and gave them said dicount,    they totally fucked up almost every hotel they were in.   I know alot of hotel owners..... so yes i am speaking the truth on this. 

i am very proud of your family for repaying at least a part of the govt assistance they recieved.    but forgive us for having a slightly skewed view of most katrina "victims"   the worst thing the dfw area did was give out those damn $1200 fema cards.   it attracted the worst from new orleans and the surrounding parrishes and made this place a totally ghetto ass place to liive for over two years.     

forgive me for not welcoming them with open arms when the last time they were here they fucked up the local economy, made the hit and run accident an everyday occurance, made us incredibly aware of their "katrina signs" by peddling on the street corners. fucked up more than a few hotels and took money from my buddies in the hospitality industry's pockets.

the main problem with katrina victims is not that they had a tragedy    it happens. but that alot of other people have problems, yet these are the only ones that cant seem to overcome.

IOWANS dealt with their floods without the need to suck on femas teet.     hell they even did it without rioting

FLORIDIANS deal with stronger and more frequent hurricanes on a yearly basis,  yet they are able to rebuild somehow

Californians deal wiht earthquakes and record wildfires that destroy their homes on a yearly basis,  yet they manage

New york and the entire northeast suffer through crippling blizzards almost yearly,  yet somehow they manage too.

TORNADO Alley get cities obliterated with tornadoes, yet no ones crying for fema and blaming the government

you dont see these people rioting in the streets and blaming the government......


of course these peopel abide by common sense as well   

floridians use hurricane windows, storm shutters etc. to fight off their problems

californians use earthquake resitant designs and fire retardant building materials.

the northeast prepares and reacts quickly to their blizzards to minimize their impacts.

new orleans on the other hand    didnt realize that NO is below sea level, that NO has flooded on the past WELL BEFORE KATRINA  back int he 30s. but didnt learn from it,   that putting emrgency generators int he basement instead of the roof was bad idea in a flood prone city.   didnt realize that CATEGORY 5 means GTFO!

their was a lot of freeloaders from the katrina situation and 'til this day they're still people benifiting in the assistance from the gov. my coworker told me of this lady he knows that gets her rent paid 'til this day and only works part time 'cause if she works full time then her benefits will stop. i do understand that it takes some people longer to get on their feet than others and i know this lady that gets her insurance paid for in full, by the red cross still. i'm like blair, i dont like freeloaders because WE are paying for it!
we have members from LA and sara was a victim from katrina and she told me she didnt get any help from the gov. but only that fema card but that's it and she's doing good for herself!
