DOING MY CIVIC DUTY TODAY. ...

JURY DUTY HAS STARTED OFF GREAT SO FAR.. BESIDES THE WHOLE LOSING A DAY OF WORK AND $250 PAY FOR THE DAY TO SIT IN A ROOM FULL OF SMELLY PEOPLE THAT FORGOT TO TAKE A SHOWER OR DRESS PROPERLY BEFORE COMING IN... AND THE $4.00 OF JURY PAY AFTER HAVING TO PAY FOR MY OWN PARKING.     

I WALTZ IN 15MIN LATE AFTER TRYING TO FIND PARKING FOR AN HOUR..

THE GUY TAKING THE JUROR PASSES IN THE AUDITORIUM (see: Holding Tank For 300+ Suckers) says aloud on front of everyone.

"You're late."

To which I reply ever so respectfully

"And you have shitty parking, a ridiculous juror selection process, and the wrong address for the summons. You're lucky I even bothered to show up."  

Looks at me stunned and a lil pissed. (while the jury pen snickers uncontrollably)

and I add with a smile only the  satisfaction of shutting up a self righteous civil servant (read: gubment teet sucker) can provide:  

"But hey, nobody's perfect, right?"  

And take my seat.


Hopefully I made an impression so I can get out early

WELL,

Didn't get picked....  Shocked?  Me too!   


The case they were asking was for some City Ordinance violation.  (Would go into more detail but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to)


I told them right off the bat that I am a Constitutional Libertarian. I told them that the Founders never intended for any Govt, Federal, State, or City, to have this kind of power. I told them that since the law was bullshit, that the defendant is Not Guilty in my eyes.

They told me that the law was the law and that I was to decide whether he did it or not. I told the prosecutor that I refuse to label someone guilty of an illegal law, and that I hoped he puts me on the jury so I can convince the other 11.


Sadly, I was the second name on the "Challenged Juror" list. Meaing one of the lawyers ( I can only assume the prosecutor, the defendants lawyer loved me. ) not only didn't select me, but blacklisted me in the jury pool so I was not eligible to sit on any other jury. 


So, they told me that they had no further need for me because of the blacklist and that I can go home.



WOO HOO!!



OH,   and I ened up with only $3...   The damned parking fee was $3!!!

$6 pay- $3 parkign fee = fucking ripoff
