Mustang Rearends

Can somebody tell my why all Mustang rearends hit so hard when we go over bumps and shit!?!?! Its even worse when someone is sitting in the backseat. Its been like that with my '95 V6, my '95 V8, and now my '03 V6. I was talking to a buddy of mine who has a '98 GT, and he said it was the same thing with him. Is there anyway to fix that, i.e. new control arms, springs, etc..? I had tried replacing the shocks in my '95 V6 when I had it, and that didn't do anything to it. I just don't want to start spending money for nothing. Thanks Homies!

Is the swap pretty difficult bro?
not really ive done it before on mine.
ill install it for 200 if you get the rearend
most people on dfwstangs will trade and some will swap it too
its best to have a cobra with you with the swap because yall need to swap mounting brackets, and ABS cables because yours are too short to fit.
but he advantages out of it
1. 31 spline rearend w/ 3.55 gears stock
2. corners like nothin
3. rear cobra brake upgrade 11 in rotors
4. free set of bilstein rear shocks ( cause they arent interchangeable)
disadvantages
1.high high horsepower youll need to get a brace or the wheels wont plant all the way (spin)
2. weighs about 125lb more than the solid bout 10 of that is in the bigger rotors alone.
but its well worth it.

Why would someone want the regular suspension over the IRS? I was doing some research on the IRS, and I definelty want to do that swap. I was just curious as to why someone would want to get rid of theirs. Hey, and did you also change out your front brakes and calipers to the cobra model too, or did you leave yours stock? Man I want to thank you for letting me know about that IRS, because I would have never even known about it. I will definately contact you to help me out. I hate going to DFWStangs, but oh well, if its for my car, I guess I can sacrifice.
Let me know if you spot one also bro.

Hey bro, another question I had was if you had to make a computer adjustment for the different gear ratio? I don't know what the v6's have, but I think it is not 3.55, or is it? I am sorry about all the questions, just trying to get everything in order so I will know what to get. Thanks bro, I will be sure to buy you a space on my fight pools for helping me out! I did that for Mauri also cuz he has always been there for me too! Lucky mofo won on the first fight pool I put him on!

you have a v6? then you might have to buy the IRS because the v6 rearends are weak.
ive got a buddy whos selling hiis IRS with a full rebuild 3.73 gears, royal purple fluid, bilstein shocks, all for 450.
youll need to buy a set of brackets to bolt up which are about 75 bucks
the reason why they want a solid instead of IRS is beacause in super high HP cars the solid will hold up better, get better traction, and are lighter.
they were made for the drag strip, they suck ass at turning.

thats stupid that defeats the purpose of having lower control arms at all.
people do this on drag cars, not on anythign thats remotely daily driven, because you are compromising the suspension

I agree with the facepalm being funny!! I couldn't stop laughing, cuz I do that to my wife all the time. Anyways, I didn't really know what that guy was talking about when he said to weld some stuff together. I like the other idea better though. But I I think I am going to have to wait until I get a programmer first since the gears will be different than what I have stock right now, and I will need to adjust the speedometer, right? Now, once I install the IRS on the car bro, what will the drive quality be like? Is it gonna be smooth at the rear, or is it gonna feel like there are no shocks at all in the rear?

Do the IRS come stock with the T-Lok on it, or do people put that on aftermarket? Just curious, cuz I saw one that was being sold that had T-Lok on it.

Aside from the IRS itself, what else will I need to complete the swap? Alot of them look like they come completely set up, but I know there has to be something that I don't have on my car that I will need to get. Thanks a bunch for all your help man!

Yeah, why do you think alot of the cobra guys want straight axles? You want performance and handling or a car that rides like a caddy? The closest you could get to that in a mustang would be air bagging it, and not to sure how that would ride.

man we gotta kill this topic......... anyhow looks like us stangers own sports sedans LOL
A sedan car (American English; saloon in British English) is one of the most common body styles of the modern automobile. At its most basic, the sedan is a passenger car with two rows of seats and adequate passenger space in the rear compartment for adult passengers. The vehicle usually has a separate rear trunk (boot in British English) for luggage, although some manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Tatra, and Volkswagen made rear-engined sedans.
A sports sedan or a sports saloon is a descriptive term applied to a sedan automobile that is designed to look and feel "sporty" - offering the driver more connection with the driving experience. Most vehicles in this category overlap with the compact executive car classification.
A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile. The exact definition varies, [1] but generally it is used to refer to a low to ground, light weight vehicle with a powerful engine. Most vehicles referred to as sports cars are rear-wheel drive, have two seats, two doors, and are designed for more precise handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. A sports car's dominant considerations can be superior road handling, braking, maneuverability, low weight, and high power, rather than passenger space, comfort, and fuel economy.
