Ok guys i know i dont know anybody but im in a bind. I JUST spent money on getting a new clutch put in the car and now i blew a plug.  I have had two do this already so far and i know it just needs a helicoil kit.  I really just need some one that would be willing to meet up with me and just help me out with this.  The car is in Hurst over by the NE mall.

Thanks for any help
Andrew.

You don't need a helicoil you need a timecert sparkplug repair. My brother had his done a while back, I don't know if he still has the number to the guy that fixed his.

have you tried one of the little spark plug thread repair things.  It basically traces the threads and helps to repair them.  I'd try that first, you can find them at autozone for pretty cheap.

Ya those kits are not very cheap.  I called Gear heads and its 250 to get it done.  Just might have to pay the money and get it done right.

The autozone one is only a bandaid, we did it on my brother's car, next sparkplug change will come right out. Trust me just spend the money and have it fixed, the time cert is a ford repair for that problem on the mod motors.

it isnt a fix at all.  It repairs the threads so that the spark plug will screw into the head correctly again.  If the threads are completely trash it would fix it correctly.  If they're completely gone then yeah go for the helicoil.

That problem with the spark plug is it blows it out of the sparkplug hole taking out the threads. I know what you mean about the thread repair you are talking about, I did that on my brothers car and it blew it back out and tried to repair it again and finally just repaired with the timecert like ford says too and no problem eversince have changed sparkplugs and no problems still.

gotcha, I didnt see where he posted that it had blown out of the threads already.  Guess that would make it different.

I'd just take it to a shop, and not risk it being done wrong.  Could get really pricey if not done right.

A guy we know that works at ford came and fixed my brothers car since it wouldn't run. I don't know if he still has his number though. But I guess the guy who started the thread is not interested cause he has not been on again.

Oh no im here  Sorry i had my reserve drill this weekend!

Ok i got the car towed to my parents house and will just be doing the helicoil kit.  I know timecert is the best but the car already has two helicoils on there and i have not had a single problem with them.  I had a Ford mechanic do the 1st one, he was very knowledgeable and seemed confidant that Helicoil is sufficient.  I will be doing this on my own but have been reading every little thing out there and watching Youtube videos (ya im a expert now!)

I will start the install this coming weekend.  Any other advice is greatly appreciated!!
