Ok so lets say we convert to free health care and there are no more life saving procedures as stated in the plan... how do you tell a police officer to chase a suspect knowing that if he gets shot he wont recive life saving medical treatment? ... just a thought

I worked in an Engineering firm and lost my job because target stopped paying there bills and ducking calls. So don't preach to me about a free lunch I have been busting my ass off looking for work since December. There Is none to be found in my line of work and what little there is they can pick and choose and pay nothing for them. This is economy is because the higher ups have been looking for nothing but a quick buck for years and it is finally catching up to them, and who does it effect first white and blue collar workers. As a wise economic professor told me once the only difference between a recession and a depression is that in a recession your neighbor looses his job, in a depression you lose yours. We as tax payers already pay for free medical care for the wrong people, how about we start paying for the right people.

i agree with Alex, cause there are PLENTY of low wage jobs that can be taken by anyone, but us white people seem to think that those jobs are not good enough for us, even when we are jobless. We deem it as work that is not to our standards and that we seem to feel like we deserve much more. That is why the minorities, mostly the Hispanic minorities, tend to swallow up those jobs and then people start bitching about them being in the country, taking hard earned money away from us, and causing a ripple effect in the health care and tax system. Yes, illegals do have to pay taxes on all their perishable goods, such as when they go to the grocery store or buy gas. Now, I will say that a good percentage, but not all, of illegal aliens (and I am not just referring to Hispanics) do not pay yearly income taxes to the IRS. That is why they are paid under the table so that the government does not catch on and business do not get audited or raided.  so it is kind of like a double-edged sword.

I agree with Blair that health care is not a right nor is having a job. Everyone in this country is free to pursue their own "dream" and to go about it accordingly. That's what I don't get about people in America sometimes bc we tend to bitch when illegals take jobs that we could have (but don't want to do) and then send that money back home. And I have to agree with Alex that the good 'ol U.S of A couldn't run sufficiently without the labor of these "illegals". They really are a valued part of our economy bc those are jobs that we seem to detest and think we are too good for, and then there are those that in the same light will badmouth people for doing the job in the first place.

Healthcare would be nice, but I'd rather pay for it than have someone else who can't get it pay my way. Besides, my bio son just got done with kemo with the insurance that I am paying for.

many illegals come here and work 2, 3 ,4 jobs, go to night class's to learn english, work their ass's off for years being paid 5-6 bucks a hour, now when you have 3 jobs that pay you even 5 bucks a hour thats in reality $15 an hour which comes out to a decent sized check. they work and work and work cuz back in mexico or where ever they are from, that's all they knew to do is work, they will not pass up any opportunity to make that money, hell if they could maintain a 4th job thats 5 more bucks added to their check. alex is right the gov. makes SOOOOO much money off the illegals simply cuz they do not file for income tax, why? cuz they dont wanna get deported, so they miss out on their HARD EARNED back tax check. they bust their ass year round no vacation no days off so that they can support and feed their families and don't file the 3-4 jobs they worked year round so that they can continue to live here and make a decent living.

i believe everyone should get "free healthcare" we are already paying for it w/ our medical from our jobs so if they were to tax us for "free healthcare" then our paychecks would really stay the same so i dont see why people make such a big deal.  i've been working since i cant remember when and i've always had medical/dental/vision being taken out of my check for years and years and since 2001 i've only been to the doctor TWICE!!!!!! like i said, we're already paying for medical so why not help out the people that dont have the privelage that we do.
people say that by doing so you'll get lackluster medical care but that's better than no care at all for people that dont have medical insurance. it's kinda of sad that a lot of doctors wont see you w/ out any insurance and it shouldnt be that way. it's funny or sad that the US is the only country out their that does not have free health care system and it would be socialism if we were.
again, i'm for it- fuck it, take it out of my taxes!
