if i speed shift mine grinds 3rd and sometimes wont go into 4th.  they told me that i need to most likely replace the syncros.
but because its a trans problem, the only way to truly find the problem is to start taking it apart.  people can only speculate on what it is.

I can assuredly tell you it is the synchros.

You got to rebuild the trans. Once again have you tried adjusting your clutch? Mine was doing the same, I just adjusted the clutch some more and problem solved. Do you have a firewall adjustable clutch cable and quadrant kit? Before you go tearing into the trans and wasting money troubleshoot! I just do this everyday thanks not just an internet mechanic. hey dude, you have a tremec tr3650 trans in that car? if so that's your problem. they have a problem with the third gear syncro going bad along with the slider and blocker rings. there's a technical service bulletin on it. there's a kit that you can have installed in the trans that will repair it with updated parts. it's essentially a rebuild, so it's not cheap. but that's your problem most likely, and a clutch adjuster is just a waste if that's the case.
