I have a centerforce stage 3 clutch and I bought a firewall adapter. The clutch is pretty stiff but it bites good. I can't remember how much I paid. I think like $300 or something. Hell, I just lost track cause I bought so much. But call Dallas Mustang and tell them your with smokin performance and they might give you a discount.

well, it looks like both will cost you at least $200.
Here is the ebay listing for the F1
http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_nkwZmustangQ20f1Q20clutchQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZQQ_sopZ12

Centerforce is probably your best best to go with on a mustang as they are centrally designed for this application.
Centerforce http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_dmptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQQ_sopZ12?_nkw=mustang+centerforce+clutch&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=mustang+f1+clutch&_osacat=0
You probably pay about $350 for these.

And then here is XTR
http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_sopZ12?_nkw=mustang+XTR+clutch&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=mustang+XTRe+clutch&_osacat=0

You also might want to give Ram a look through
http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_dmptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQQ_sopZ12?_nkw=mustang+ram+clutch&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=mustang+XTR+clutch&_osacat=0

Don't know why I picked eBay for that but at least it gives you a price point.

If you are still stock or fairly stock, I would just go with a stage 2. You can go with a stage 3 if you plan on having more than like 500-600hp, but you can save yourself some money. I think that is a hydralulic clutch in there is it not? Or is it hydrostatic like mine?

If it's  hydrostatic, you will need to buy the billet firewall clutch adapter, and I would also get a new cllutch quadrant.

its hydraulic.   and i was planning on just something like a stage 2 for now.  $200 is what i was aiming for but ill probably end up paying more.
i would rather just spring the extra money then end up with a shitty clutch 5,000 miles down the road.  lol
thanks for the help.  i think ima go with either a centerforce or a ram.

o and one more thing.   do you know of any place in the area that refinishes flywheels?

finding a stage II for $200 will be hard..... the $200 clutches out there are your basic OEM/heavy duty replacement stage I
go with a stage II if you're planning on putting sticky tires. And i'm sure you know the importance of resurfacing the flywheel.
It's a must.... you don't want to end up with a "hisssing" noise as the clutch starts to engage

Stage 1 king cobra clutch!FTW! Too much clutch is not good also, stick with a stage 1 or 2 like ben said. But get a firewall adjuster and quadrant. Good luck on finding a 200 dollar stage2 clutch, king cobra stage1 at DM 220 my king cobra engages real good!

If I were you I would get the RAM dual force. If you got the money, I would go ahead and buy a lighter weight flywheel, but not aluminum. Do make sure that of you stay stock on the flywheel, make sure you get it resurfaced.

I am running the RAM dual friction "power grip" in my mach
the foot pedal "feel" is similar to that of King Cobra (easy to press)

The RAM HD grip nice too but as you know there is an obvious
difference in pedal effort since they are stiff with a stock clutch adjuster.
I had the RAM HD installed on a n/a 1997GT and a n/a 1999GT.
I was pleased with both. Yeah take the flywheel to NAPA for resurfacing

what trans do you have? t45 or tr3650? if it's the 3650, i wouldn't worry about breaking it... something has to be wrong with it for it to just blow up.. unlike the weak ass t45's...
