I added cmcv delete plates to my car today. I have no new numbers yet but it will be a good increase. the seat of my pants dyno can sure as hell feel it al the way through the power band but especially through the mid and top end of the rpm range I thing I will be in the sevens in the eighth now.

on the s197 there is a plate with butterflies in it that limits and restricts air through the intake into the head by an electric motor that opens and closes it through the rpm range to cause turbulence in the air before it enters the heads combustion chamber. the delete plates eliminate this system and lets it flow freely. from what I have read that the four valves have a system similar to this also.

Oh I see it's a big useless thing that slows you down?
I have carbed vehicles and I just pop off the air filter and throw on a air cleaner like a race cars.

So they basically restrict air flow or improve it?

Actually Big i beleave the technology comes from porche. Ford adapted this technology onto the european Duratec engines first like the 2.5 in my 98 1/2 SVT contour.

Yes the 98 1/2 svt contour is black on blue leather bone stock with all oem replacment parts.. not sure of the milage as pure i have not seen the car since i came home from iraq but im sure is under 90,000. my mother drove the car while i was gone as a grochery getter and currently sits at a local shop needing a trans rebuild and a few new suspension componets that are worn from regular use and granny shiftin. the cost im told is $800-900 to fix and i have yet to give the shop the go ahead. the car also has the engine replaced because a vavle spring floated and desroyed the engine this happened under 10k miles ago. however I will be willing to let the car go very cheap as per i have no use for it anymore. any offer over $2000 as is or $3000 fixed will be seriously considered.

Yes i just got off active duty army may31. i was an infantry soldier stationed at fort drum ny. the contour did no go with me and has not seen snow. but i did 3 1/2 years in the service. and spent 13months in kirkuk city iraq pop est at 2mil people, it wasnt exactly a walk threw the park. while deployed i spent my first 3 months there as quick reaction force capable of responding to the battlefeild in under 5 mins and responsible for escorting vip's air force bomb teams, provide fire support for troops in contact as well as remove wounded/dead from the battle feild. the i spent a couple month doing what every combat arms unit does.. standard patroling of designated neiborhoods.. kickin in doors etc. and then i was assigned to a MITT team where i trained iraq police esu a unit equivant to our swat how to fight hand to hand how to shoot techniques in riot control and the list goes on.

so are you telling me that you are not thankful for the sacrafice they make to ensure that you can live the life you do???
You do realize that it is SOLELY because of our military that we can do the things we do, say the things we want, act how we want. etc. Without our military, we would not enjoy all this. The military gets ALL my thanks I can possibly give, no matter what. ANd you can't fault someone if they fight in a battle you don't approve of. It is not their choice, and they make the best of it.

I get what he's saying. he thinks that tanking us is insulting us. which in a way i guess it could be seen that way by my previous statement. We all joined cause we felt we had a duty to our country, not to be thanked. I truly believe if you are able you should serve.

Well thanks for the appreciation and i appreciate your 6 years of service iornhorse. however i would like to add to the subject.. its kinda weird sometimes having random people thank you for your service when they have no clue what u did. and on another note i dont take credit for the freedoms we have those go to an older day soldier as well as our politicians as war is only an extension of politics by other means.

I just appreciate what they do because I'm in JROTC and they teach us and tell us what happens and what soldiers have to go through.

I wouldn't be in airborne for nothing you gotta be one crazy son of a bitch to jump out of planes with 100 guys in front of you and 100 guys behind you.

not insain tho i mean the plane is moving and separates you.. and ya got a back up shoot.. but yeah when i went to airborne school summer of 2006 the place was flooded with jrotc and a platoons worth of marines.. long story short i was in 2 rotations both were full with 500plus soldiers and the school can only graduate 200 so i got "41 clubed" or purposly kicked out without actually deserving it.

Yeah my SFC was a recruiter for airborne and he told us every guy he got already had military experience whether it be a separate branch or some form of college or high school rotc. He said they make better soldiers because they were already some kind of rank above PFC.
