I need the program for my car so I can fine tune things such as fuel curves and shift points, this SCT Xcalibrator 2 does not let me do that. I can adjust Air/fuel ratios, I also need to figure out if my injectors are at full duty cycle

Decided that I am going to stick with the 3.73's cause I would like to have some good highway speeds.

Also, started looking into a supercharger... Maybe sometime later this summer or in the fall??

you mean on the mods I already have?Huh?

YOu better check your prices again... That's WAY over $5000 - my nos kit is $2000 alone..  (i know Mo, I said nos instead of nitrous)

Hell, my pistons and rods themselves with the rings were over $2000....

$5000?? not even close

With all that money you spent on the NOS and motor internals you could of gotten you a DSS or CHP 5.0 long block stroker motor and not been going through all these rebuilds. Just my 2cents.  N/A 300+ to the wheels.

yes, I have been all too aware of that. When I initially built the motor (well, when my dad put the piston rings in the wrong way) it wasn't going to cost as much. But 3 rebuilds later, I couldn't just go ahead and stroke the one I have, cause I was trying to avoid the extra costs. Tinkering with the idea of rebuilding it again in July and stroking it to about  293 or 298 (which is about the max that block can take)..

Who knows? Maybe I find a cobra motor at the auction and redo that??

How much you think I can get for my Manley pistons and JE rods? Should I sell the block whole or tear it down and  sell in parts?
Calling DSS Racing today to ask about the stroker motor.

Okay, so I talked to DSS Racing today. They said that the piston rings I have in the car are not suited for my application. He said that those forged rings are generally used on H/O motors, usually 337 and above.

We found a package for $2900 that has all the balanced forged internals with all the goodies, I just need to get that other block I have bored to .020 or .030. But then I would have to assemble it myself.

For $4400, I can get the same pacakge but already built. Just add the tope end and go. To me, with the fact I already spent soooooo much money on this car, I think I will just buy the package and do it myself. That, or I have a buddy who is certified mechanic and he said he would help me/ or just do it himself. HE said that I did put that motor together right, and don't see what went wrong, but whatever it is, is not my fault. That being said, looks like I am gonna build this new one as well.

So I checked the oil again today, and it's been a week or so since this happened. The oil level looks PERFECT. I put in 6 qts this time, and no black on the tailpipes and car runs fine. It almost seems like the damn piston rings unseated and then reseated. Someone mentioned maybe the motor is still breaking in, but it has over 5000 miles on it now. It HAS to be broken in already. I mean, hell, I already sprayed 3 or 4 tanks of Nitrous through it. So who the hell knows? I know that I am definitely getting the 302 pacakge (technically it will be a 301- close enough) sometime in about 4 weeks. I am going to send off the spare block I have probably not this next week, but the week after. That way, by the time DSS ships my stuff, I will have the block back and have all the seals and gaskets, etc, and ready to go.

So looks like about mid-May to late May (at the latest) I will have the new motor done and back racing.

4400$ CHP sends you the whole short block stroked and built for less than that.
