Domesticated Dominator - SP CREW

Okay, so I have about 600 miles on this new motor. For some reason, it still feels like I am struggling to get in the powerband in each gear. It seems a little more slower in hitting that power since I did the motor swap. All the internals are forged, Eagle Crank, JE rods, Manley pistons, Comp Stage 2 cams, stage 2 heads. The last time I jsut rebuilt it, I found out that a few of the rods had got stretched, so they tore up the crank and the bearings. Well, I had Kim Barr Racing do the work on fixing the rods and balancing a new crank. But I can not figure out why it seems slower. Maybe I really need to put in the 3.73 gears I have to get better power quicker. I turned up the timing a degree or two, and have a 2% richer fuel mix. Any ideas on why it feels like I am driving uphill sometimes?
Im going to post my mods in the technical forum so you have a better  idea

The only thing I can think of is since you have stiffer springs and bigger cams , ported heads your power range is higher in the rpm range.

you need to wait until you hit 3k miles, i say take it to get re tuned and see if it made a difference
that car should be close to 300rwhp if not more

let's just hope that little rattling noise isnt one of the bearings getting eaten up again. Im about to change my oil here in a few mins, and I'm gonna stick a magnet inside the oilpan, and if I pull out metal ----- BANG!!!!   The stang will be dead!

Yeah that's what I know how to break in a motor, if you are going to race it, than break it in for a few miles to let everything settle than open it up. One of my instructors build alcohol motors for boats, and said the same thing,

I just realized something earlier tonight, and I can almost kick myself in the ass for not realizing it earlier. I built this car for low and mid range torque, mainly for better track use. I have been advancing my timing a few degrees. Problem is, I need to retard the timing for the better low end torque and for the cams. So, I re-tuned it and it ran so much better! But yeah M, your right, I do need to take it annd have it dyno'd and custom tuned. MY dad knows this guy who owns a professional race team, and they build stock and funny cars, for the NHRA. He told my dad to have me bring the car in and get it tuned there, so I need to find out and get it done soon.

Yeah I know it is easy to tell someone else to just dog the hell out of it, but I guess if I would of spent all that money I would be a lil hesitant to dog it right away, but then again I couldn't resist! mustang I did the same with my clutch, it said to break it in for 500mi the clutch was lucky if it got over 100mi and that thing grabs good as hell now!
